Volunteers play an important part in the Hospice service. Without them, most hospices would not be able to carry on their work. Of all the people involved in Hospice care in America, over 80% are volunteers, giving over 5 million hours of help to patients and their families. Many volunteers come to Hospice because of the positive experience provided to their family members and friends.
Volunteers working with patients and families complete a 30 hour training program, provide required health data and three reference checks.
